Panel 1:
- SORCE (TSIM) preparation for measuring total
and spectral irradiances
- Building long-term irradiance data base
- Intercomparison of various total and UV data sets.
- Further development of the synthetic
models and build solar reference spectrum.
- Clarify role of ground-based observing programs
(GBOP) in irradiance studies and identify needs
and gaps
- Establish catalogs/archive(s) for reliable
(community approved) datasets and models.
- Activity-irradiance connection - what observation
and theoretical work is new and what is needed?
Panel 2:
- Analysis of the SOHO/SEM data and develope
long-term EUV models
- Study of the atmospheric effects of EUV, X-ray and
particles
Panel 3:
- Analysis of various space and ground-based images
and incorporate the data to irradiance models.
- Concentrate on theoretical understanding of
irradiance variations
- Develop new measurement strategy (radius, solar
shape) and compare with changes in total irradiance
- Compare the brightness variations of solar type of
stars and the Sun
